I was doing pretty well, and then I added the letter "F" and very soon after, the letter "O". However, since doing that, I'm only able to copy at a Character Speed of 30 WPM and Effective Speed of 6 WPM. I'm now getting letters mixed up, and making errors as well.

Do I just continue and my ear will adjust? Or should I back off learning the letters "F" and "O", and work on my speed for the other letters I already know?

When I was learning my 40 characters I remember this happened to me a few times, and what I did was concentrat some time in Morse Machine, particularly with the new characters that were causing me difficulty. I then added the other characters to Morse Machine I had already learned to be able to differentiate, and then return to the lesson I was on. From my experience I found adding a new character can throw the whole process of learning backwards but with time this will work its way out and you will be able to move foward. Thank you for your advice. I've been using Morse Machine with the drop down set to (Koch). That randomly sends all of the characters from the lessons that I've completed. Is there a way to select only certain letters in Morse Machine such as the "O" and "F" that I mentioned in my previous post? I see that there's a "Custom Characters" drop down menu but I don't know how it works. I tried to put a letter into the box above the "Start" button, but the program doesn't play it, and it says it's an invalid character?

So if you want certain characters to repeat often in Morse Machine I click my pointer in the green line of each character. If the line color goes up its more frequent and if the line goes down it will sound less often or you can turn it off with this same process. It is a little touchy to do it this way but works.

Go into "change CW settings" (under account) and take the check marks out of the letters you dont want in Morse Machine. Then when in Morse Machine use the drop down which says "custom characters". Only those characters will be present in Morse Machine....Tricky but figured it out.
