Friends,

over the last days LCWO.net has not been reachable for many users. The site was living on a shared hosting platform since 2008, but it seems we have outgrown this.

So I bit the bullet and moved LCWO.net to a new home, a dedicated server which should have enough resources for the future.

If you notice anything strange, please let me know!

I was just made aware that posting replies to the forum did not work after the server move. It should be fixed now. Sorry!

Glad to hear that moving to a new server will allow this amazing resource to continue to be available!

One minor strange thing I noticed is that after the move, my progress chart (the grid with the boxes) slightly changed. I previously had practice on 2026-01-20 but after the move, the square is blank.

Obviously, it's not a problem on its own but I wasn't sure if it indicates some data may have been lost in the transition.

As I look at this more closely, I think the times recorded for practice are now in UTC whereas before they were in CET (local time for Germany).

Hi Jeff,

yes, you're right. The server is running in UTC time now. The database is complete, but for training sessions close to midnight, this means some changes here and there.

It's a long standing issue that the user should be able to set their timezone, and have everything displayed accordingly. One fine day...

Hallo Fabian

Vielen Dank für den Service!!!

Vielleicht schaffe ich es dank Deiner Seite irgendwann doch noch soviel CW zu verstehen dass es für ein QSO reicht. Hi

I had a solid green carpet of 10 exercises per day. there are now 3 blank days and 3 days with 20 in swtead of 10 exercises.

Thank you again for this exceptional facility you provide out of the kindness of your heart to those of us interested in CW!

P.S. I just noticed something odd: the statistics display for word, code groups, etc is off.

The charts either don't appear (word) or seem strange.

nonagenarian: this is due to re-alignment between UTC and CEST. Nothing in the database changed, just the way it is displayed. I will have a look at that.

Piotr56: I think this should be fixed now, it was a file permission problem.

Thank you, Fabian.

This site has been fundamental in my learning and in that of many fellow hams who, like me, want to acquire the skills necessary to communicate in CW.

It's a great job.
