|
Posted: 2024-08-15 19:13 | Yes, go into CW settings and enter your custom set, then go back into Morse Machine and you'll have a drop down choice. However if you want a better program, I recommend Morse from Eric Ray Raymond:

Also QRQ from our Fabian Kurz.

Posted: 2024-08-30 13:59 | First and foremost, I’d like to thank you for this application. It has been challenging to push my brain in a new way and fun to learn CW. I really like the MorseMachine. I am not a good typist. I spend more time looking for the keys than I should. Poking around the internet I found comments that it best to not type or write but say out loud or mentally the letters as you hear the patterns. The only issue with that is there is no feedback on the correct choice. I run a Windows 10 PC. I was wondering if there is a way to verbally dictate the letters and your application would recognize the letter. This may already be built into the operating system under “Ease of Access” where it might be possible to type vocally. If this has been addressed in one of the other forums, please advise where. Anyway, just a thought. Thanks again.

Posted: 2024-09-08 17:29 | Using Morse Machine... and selecting my custom list of characters.... the last letter in my list would not work. It happened to be "T" in my custom list, so every time "T" came up I had to skip it by choosing the Enter button. Wondering if this is a glitch? 09-08-2024 (KF9RG)

Posted: 2024-09-08 17:36 | KR9RG - Letter "T" not working. Umm that was my fault as there are Two "T" options in the character choice and I had both of them selected. My bad!

Posted: 2024-09-18 23:37 | While using Morse Machine with a custom character set, the app does not always respond to keyboard input. In particular, when entering the response to the character sent, an error is indicated. Using the arrow key to show the "correct response" shows the character I entered. Is anyone else seeing this behavior? Custom character set is: KNOVA4. The behavior occurs primarily with the entry of an "A"

Never had this problem, and I used MorseMachina a lot with all 41 characters. Might be something with your computer, or internet connection?

Besides our latin script, LCWO also supports cyrillic and arabic script. While we can tell the difference to arabic without a problem, some of the cyrillic characters look exactly like the latin ones. If you select one of those in your custom character set, but have a keyboard with latin characters, you will never be able to enter the correct result.
If you look at the custom character set selection, you will see that it is separated into four sections from top to bottom:
1. Characters from the Koch-Lesson, which are the latin letters, digits and some extra characters like =, /, ?.
2. Special characters
3. Cyrillic characters
4. Arabic characters
Make sure not to select any characters from the cyrillic or arabic section! If you select characters from the special charaters section, be sure that they are present on your keyboard.

Posted: 2024-09-21 11:00 | I've been using the app for many years and only today I've experienced an issue with Morse Machine. It is sending 'w' but that isn't in the custom character set. Upon failure I get the beep. If I skip with enter it states I got 'b' wrong.
I only have 7,z,6,v,b in the set. I've restarted the app/browser etc but can't resolve the fault.
|
Posted: 2024-09-21 11:03 | I think I figured it out. In the set there is
В
and also
B
But only one of them is 'B'.
It would have been more obvious if the letters were in alphabetical order etc or it could be entered free hand.

I've gone through all "Lessons" for the Koch character set in Morse Machine (MM). That is, I've clicked on the "+" Lesson button to include all characters through "X". However, once I leave MM, and come back to it (even if I haven't logged off), the selected bars are only "K"-"?" and I have to again click on Lesson "+" to advance the bars through 4, 7, C, 1, D, 6, 0, and X. (BTW, those last 8 bars always have the very small green bar at the bottom, just like K-?. How can I get those last 8 bars to "stick" on, so I don't have to re-select them every time? Thanks! -Mark

When you open Morse Machine it always starts at the lesson you have set in the Koch course. The "+" and "-" buttons in Morse Machine are only for that one session and are not saved to your profile.
