The website states that the speed should not be lower than 15WPM. Does it refer to the character speed, effective speed, or both? If both cannot be reduced to 15WPM, I won't have enough time to listen when my effective speed is high, which results in a poor experience. Currently, my character speed is 18WPM and my effective speed is 11WPM

After more than 60 days, my effective speed has increased from 11wpm to 18wpm, with the effective characters consistently staying at 18wpm. I believe I am ready to train at a speed of 20/20wpm.

Try bumping the character speed right up to 25 or maybe 30. It's much easier than you think.

To change the speed permanently, you must set it on the Change CW settings page (found in the left hand side menu).

If you change the speed using the gear-icon in the jscwlib-player, the change is only valid for that instance of the player. When a new player is loaded (e.g. when you reload the page), it acquires the speed settings that you set on your Change CW settings page.
