Keep the code alive!
I am a no code Extra Class licensee that will achieve the old 20WPM code requirement and I plan on doing even better than that.
I want CW to become my preferred mode!
The next time an old timer says to me "but you didn't have to pass the code exam." I am going to ask them to pull out their key to have a QSO. I find that the old timers that complain about us newcomers not having to pass the code test, can't do CW to save their life. They let their skills lapse but they bad mouth new licensees. Old timers that can still do the code I find are much more tolerant and willing to encourage us new amateurs. That's because real amateurs can do CW!
