Is it possible to give us a time between the end of the playback to the time we hit the key and register it. An averaging time would work too.

The point is to use it to judge if one is hesitating or is taking too long to recognise, useful as a feedback to go back and relearn these codes.

It is measured and displayed as "effective speed"

Don't worry about that, in effect your effective speed will be always very low, because you are measuring your time between immidiately recognising a character and hitting a key. Hence your reaction time.

Regular speeds between 15 and 25 wpm can only be reached by "pipelining": you type previous received characters while hearing new characters. That is not and can not be exercised by Morse machine, so be carefull using it.
