About me: My desire to learn CW began when I started reading a book titled, "Mr. Lincoln's T-Mails" by Tom Wheeler. It is a fascinating book! Not even two chapters into the book I downloaded several apps for my Tablet to begin to learn CW, and I am now hooked!

My user name, "Fwand" is in memory of a great friend and ham radio enthusiast, Jim Forsyth - WB4CGX, of North Carolina. He has been gone for several years now, but I know he would be proud that I have decided to learn CW, as would our awesome mutual friend (also passed) Walt Parry - K2DFR, also of North Carolina. They were both truly great gentleman and I am proud to say that they both referred to me as their friend (sometimes pronounced "fwand" for fun), and I miss them dearly.

I am sure I will make many new friends here, and I look forward to learning and sharing in this great, old medium for communication.
