Hi,
My QRS CW is not bad and reading a standard qso in my head I find OK.
But for plain text I convert CW to letters (Symbols) to the written page. Ie I don't hear aletter as spoken .With word training I can cheat!
by typing the letters as they are transmited
but I cant hear them as a child would spell C A T.
I hope you understand what I am getting at?
Any help would be appreciated.
Maybe it is just practice.
Richard.

May be different for other people.

When you copy by head you just glue the incoming characters together and form the word.

When you are copying faster, close to your limit, it helps to recognise the first 3 characters and the tail section of the word. When it is a known plain text word, it is normally sufficient to know the whole word.

Especially when you are copying plain text, you know already often what is coming.

Just everything the same as learning reading when you are 5 or 6 years old, however the whole process of learning is at least 100 times slower because you passed that age.
