Posted: 2010-05-29 16:23 | Well, I just realized something this week that I really never thought about before and it just dawned on me.
I feel like I am "A Team Player in an Individual's Sport".
I really didn't think about it much but as time goes along with me working on my Rufz skills, I found it awfully strange that nobody wants to talk about how they are progressing up the Toplist. Guys keep it a big secret as to what works and what doesn't work.
How do we expect to get any NEW BLOOD into high speed telegraphy if we don't all work together on it. NEW BLOOD is GOOD! Without NEW BLOOD, eventually interest will diminish, just like in our ham hobby. Maybe that's what everybody wants though but what they fail to understand is that it is the NEW BLOOD that enters on the high speed telegraphy scene that "PUSHES" the current toplister's to yet NEW heights.
They know that if they do not continue to hone their skill, that someone will come up from beneath and bite them in the butt. It is a good thing, a positive thing not negative. Growth is good! NEW BLOOD is good! All is good!
As a baseball player on the field in order for us to WIN the game, it took (9) guys to achieve our goal plus there were another 29 guys on the bench that were willing to come into the game if they ever were called upon. These 29 guys that actually were sitting on the bench were motivation for the (9) guys on the field to continue to work hard and push themselves. If I didn't push myself to my fullest athletic ability, I knew that anyone of those 29 guys that were sitting on the bench were just waiting for their opportunity to come into the game to show what they have and can do.
I'm starting to wonder if I have chosen the wrong sport because I have never ever been in an Individual Sport; I have always been a "TEAM PLAYER".
Think about it!
