Thank you very much for sharing that article. It’s very interesting and motivating, and I see myself reflected in many of the things it describes. What surprises me is that he has done so much activity and reached such a level with only one year of practice. Of course, some people learn very quickly, while others, like me, take a bit longer.

Thanks Christian for the article. I don't think there is a best learning strategy, not a one size fits all but there is commonality in morse learning success. From my experience tools do matter, there really are some great ones out there. Concentration, dilligence in training daily too matter. But the one stand out thing from this article that has certainly worked for me is speed once I nailed down the characters, and I understand it is not everyone's goal to copy fast. But speed allows my brain to make the connections to characters faster. So if I raise the speed higher for a period of time, and even listen for a few days at higher speeds, when I slow down things they seem to click better, making small gains in recognition slowly over time breaking those barriers. The sound is the key to success, the melody, rythm as Mike says. Characters become clearer, words become clearer and in turn sentences become understood. For me this has been a slow process, but for Mike his progress has been impressive in such a short time, and possibly because of his musical background. Actually that makes sense. Some good advice. There are many misconceptions in the learning of CW, and I certainly had many of those misconceptions. I thought this was going to easier than it has been. I struggled like most not knowing the best way to learn. In the end I listened to those with experience and put trust in this pages recommendations. Thanks again for posting.
