I really want to learn morse code, but I just feel so weird since everyone always says that the correct way to learn morse code is through sound. When I tell people about how I am struggling with learning auditorily, they just say I'm not trying hard enough. It really hurts. :(

I feel your pain. I have APD and I've been working on mastering CW and it has been a challenge. I can key like a champ, but copy is difficult. I took a class with a group called CWI (CW Innovations) where they teach you how to learn code and give you the tools. Great people. Even after using the proper tools and techniques I still struggle. But, I haven't given up. My current approach is repetition even if it's just one letter at a time. Also, I've created Morse code ring tones for my family and friends which forces me to recognize the code throughout my day.
