Hi all
I passed 15WPM test (when it was required) back in 1988. I never used CW since. I attempted to relearn a few years ago and fell out again. Now i've put more effort into it, Purchased new QRP rig, straight key and paddle, and will attempt POTA activation soon. I'm most of the way through 20/5 and have tried to go back and do some lessons 20/7. Where I seem to being having trouble (like I did a few years ago) is with F & L and occasionally it seems I get X & P backwards. (funny that my call has X in it)
What are some suggestions that have helped you?
Thanks
KJ7XJ - Eric

Eric, I can suggest a type of customized practice which features X and P. Each of these can be copied and pasted in to the "Convert Text To CW feature on LCWO.net for practice. In Some, there are no X's. In others there are no P's. In some, X's and P's both appear in the same lesson.

I’ll try that thanks. I’ve also been looking up spots on the pota/sota sites looking for calls with letters I’m having trouble with. They’re sending those letters over and over again - great practice

Eric, do callsign and word training. They are much more fun than random characters and you learn more.

Thanks - I've been doing that with the Morse Mania app -I haven't found anyone locally to practice with, but i have been listening a lot to web sdr and doing my best to hear calls, and decipher letters im having trouble with.

It looks like in your settings, you can check the boxes of the characters you want to hear. You could take your trouble characters and uncheck all the other boxes. I suspect you would only get those checked characters in the lesson after that.
