Posted: 2022-03-30 00:05 | I just wanted to thank Fabian Kurz for his website.
Today is big for me.
Because of this website, after 3.5 months of working on this lcwo.net website I have learned all 40 of the Morse Code characters at 20WPM character speed for the first time ever.
I am 61 and it took some effort to achieve. I am sure I would never have done this without the wonderful lcwo.net website.
I used the Morse Machine quite extensively and then, sometimes, custom code groups when I would have trouble distinguishing two characters.
The randomized Morse trainer is phenomenal for slowly distinguishing each character.
In general my practice regime was:
1. New character train with Morse Machine the first day of the character.
2. Second day of new character I would use Lessons screen to present all past plus new character in random 5WPM (overall)/20WPM Character speeds. IF the 5WPM was too fast I would switch back to Morse Machine until I could handle 5WPM.
3. Any confusion between characters I would configure a custom code group and do those tough characters until they were clear.
3. Then, Next character, repeat.
On days I practiced I tried to do 30 minutes listen, 30 minutes send. One hour a day.
thanks to Fabian Kurz for building this absolutely GREAT website.

Have you listened on the bands much ?
There are plenty of QSOs on youtube which you can rewind and repeat
eg.

Posted: 2022-04-06 12:34 | Thanks Fabian. I am now working on a standard QSO and have my first practice session with a club member via zoom tomorrow evening.
Chris, I have listened on air some, but, for the most part, have a hard time sorting the characters in the domain.
