Is this feature intended only so that I can see my transmitting speed? It is easy to use when I send with The spacebar, so no difficulty there. Is this intended for me to send a text of my own making?

It has been my experience that sending practice helps me quite a bit with my listening skills.

Better understanding of the rhythm of the character I suppose.

I did not discover the sending feature until many lessons into learning.

I presumed listening conferred automatic sending skills.
Actually my sending skills were atrocious, shockingly so. It was quite a wake-up to me.

Thanks for the answer. It is a good answer. I was actually asking about the "TX Training" feature on LCWO.NET. It uses the keyboard or mouse for sending CW. At the bottom of the page we see:
Speed: 8.3WpM; Ratio: 2.5; eff. Speed: 10.4
I just do not understand this feature. Are we supposed to set a speed or achieve a certain speed?

Using the mouse and/or keyboard is even slowwer than what I can do with my own straight key. I can already practice with my key. ---- I do have a set of lessons that I have created for TX practice. They look like this and there are several pages of them, and punctuation is included as I get around to adding it:
