I'm hell bent on learning CW! I won't be happy until I'm at 20wpm and greater. I'm at about 90% @ 12wpm. Practice, practice, practice, I'm getting there! I'm 69 years old but that isn't going to stop me! I can't wait to get a rig and get on the air! I plan on doing POTA and SOTA QRP. CW of course.

Good for you Larry! What rig are you thinking of going with? My wife and are interested in the same activities. We are planning on getting an Elecraft KX2 as a reward for passing our exams and learning Morse Code. We are hikers.

Hi John,
I plan on getting a Yaesu FTDX 10. It will do more of course but I will only run 5 watts. I know it's a little elaborate but I'm 69 with a bad back. I wish I could hike. I plan on making my own EFHW antenna. Let's keep in touch here and maybe set up a time to do a p2p schedule. Congrats to you and you wife on learning Code! The KX2 is an awesome rig.

Thanks! You are looking at a great rig in the FTDX 10. The person who got me interested in this hobby just upgraded from his 991a to that beast. You are going to love it. We look forward to crossing paths on radio waves. My wife and I take our technician exams on April 3rd. We will schedule our general exams later this year. Keep practicing Morse Code a little each day. 73
