Hello guys. Just asking. At what speed should one be considered as average?

Hi

Average speed at morse is about as useful a measurement as average speed at running.

Forget everyone else and go for your own potential based on how important learning morse is to YOU.

15wpm is maybe an average for the once a year morse hams.

40wpm for the people with aptitude who have practiced a bit and have friends at a similar speed.

20 wpm sort of normal, maybe.

25 wpm for the HSOC or a Marconi telegraphist.

30-35wpm for the contesters

Then there is the ability to hear through noise etc

Probably best to give it a turn and see what happens.
