I am likely missing it, but is there a way to search forums for a specific topic?

In google add search operators before your search string :-

http://www.googleguide.com/advanced_operators_reference.html#site

eg.

site:lcwo.net inurl:forum

https://www.google.co.uk/search?source=hp&ei=CQCnX_XsCoOBjLsP1P-liAw&q=site%3Alcwo.net+inurl%3Aforum+&oq=site%3Alcwo.net+inurl%3Aforum+&gs_lcp=CgZwc3ktYWIQA1CRB1jEG2DgI2gAcAB4AIABQogBcJIBATKYAQCgAQKgAQGqAQdnd3Mtd2l6&sclient=psy-ab&ved=0ahUKEwi1lbDCn_HsAhWDAGMBHdR_CcEQ4dUDCAk&uact=5

Use the browser's "Find" function.

First, near the bottom of the Forum main page page click on "Show all threads." Then in the browser's search or find box enter the search terms.

For example enter "WPM" and you'll get a blizzard of comments. Narrow the search to "Real WPM" and you'll get one hit.
