Yes, writing down requires not the glueing of characters to words in your mind, so writing down is easier to learn;75 years ago post WW2 it was the government requirement to become licensed at a speed op 12 wpm plain text for 5 minutes.

Most people did not know what they copied, because understanding lead to expecting the next character or word and when it was different you were lost. So you had to keep your thumb on the copied last letter to prevent that happening.

its very hard to say one by one the letters in my head.

One method is letting somebody spell a piece of newspaper text and try to copy that. Just by mentioning the characters not the spelling words, so K not kilo.

Another method: make combinatuons of two characters
such like ak cv dt of the set that you master.

Transmit them with standard letter spacing and extra long "word" spacing



that you try to receive wide spaced.

I wrote a little C pgm that generates 1000 random character pairs. Here is a sample:

for exercising copy by head. The whole file of 1000 pairs is put in personal mail to daemonix.
