I occasionally think it would have been easier and more fun learning CW if I had gotten my license back in the late 1960s, I almost did. The age issue aside it seems having only a few novice bands and nearly everyone having the same crystal for transmit would have created a pool of beginners all in it together.

I like to hear from those that did this.

I know when I take a person sking for their first time I leave them in the beginner class for a day or two. When everyone is falling down it is easier for them to laugh when it is their turn to fall. They usually have a good time and make new friends.

I really dont care. I make my errors now and I learn. It is easy to meet persons, who are beginners like me. One way ist to use this website. Another is to email by audio cw attachments. There is CW over internet, qrs nets on shortwave, < morsemail >, the reverse beacon net, ... and may be much more.

I have been monitoring the frequencies on this site https://www.qsl.net/liqrp/QRP%20Watering%20Holes%20v4a-1.pdf
and have had luck finding operator near my speed.
