I'm just curious about the order of the learning of the characters. Does anyone know the logic behind it? Thank you.

As far as I know there are different sequences in use.

I learned Morse code very effective with the forgotten method eish5 tmo0 Between 0 and o were actually 4 dashes, which was the combination character ch. So the transmitter of Dutch coastal station PCH was using it.

I suppose the character sequence is trying to prevent counting of dits, however you can and ought to learn from df9ts that counting is no problem, it solves automatically when proficiency grows.

However exercising words on this website starting with s or h still lowers my catching rate.

So my twopence

You mention learning from df9ts. How do I do that? Thanks.

For decoding in your head the "difficult" characters are the shorter ones because you have more letters to process per second than longer ones or double letters which are mostly the "easiest"

Brushup's ancient trainer was probably onto something . . . .
