Sometimes I don't complete an entire minute of drill. I get totally lost and just stop. I wish there was a Reset button that would erase whatever characters I have typed and also reset the playback timer to '0' all at once.

When you choose during any exercise one of the buttons in the top line of this screen, example: "forum"
the exercise is stopped, the typed in text gone, and there is no (bad) record registered it your home page.
