I've nearly "finished" the koch lesson series (at 20/10wpm) It's no longer painfully frustrating to do each lesson and I can get the 5 char random groups with good accuracy. I can even listen to the radio and pick out some callsigns and pieces of qsos. I still have terrible luck with plain text except at very slow speeds (5-7 wpm)

I would like to work toward building up much more speed and being able to copy with much less effort. What sort of practice would you suggest?

If you have hamradio license including CW privilege, on the air QSO is the best way for the next step.

Hi Eric,

first of all, congrats for getting thus far.

I agree with Atsu: The best, most effective and most motivating way to improve your skills now would be to get your feet wet on the air.

If you don't trust your skills enough yet, word training and a bit of callsign training are probably your best options at this point.

thank you! What you say makes sense. I am licensed, so perhaps I should just start trying it. Hopefully other operators will be patient. :)
