Posted: 2011-01-11 21:13 | As of now, the server on which lcwo.net runs is using PHP 5.2 instead of the old PHP 4*. The transition should be seamless, but if you encounter any new problems, please let me know.
Also, all requests from http://www.lcwo.net/ will automatically be redirected to http://lcwo.net/. This avoids that the same unique content is available under two URLs, which makes it difficult for search engines to decide which is the "right" version. Edit: Move complete (2011-01-13 / 07:00GMT) 73 Fabian DJ1YFK |

But it looks like there are some problems with the new server now. Currently no sound files are generated. Sorry for the trouble; I hope to be able to fix it tonight when I am at home. 73 Fabian DJ1YFK |

Posted: 2011-01-15 14:53 | Hi Fabian
The "Listen to Character" in "Koch Method CW Course" "Lessons" doesn't seem to be working unless I refresh the page, at which point it reverts to the last character I chose. The browser Status goes:- "javascript:newc('K')" then stops on "waiting for lcwo.net". The "Practice Text" is working however, so I don't think its my browser. 73 Chris |

Posted: 2011-01-19 13:35 | Hi Fabian,
sorry to write this. For me on my place here it is much slower than before. Sometimes I had to wait seconds until the new call appears or my input is checked and send back. Callsign-Training and Morse Machine. 73, Mike |

Posted: 2011-01-20 07:17 | Interesting; I personally didn't notice any change in speed. Yesterday night I started doing automated performance tests: Once each hour, a script will request 50 short CW MP3s from lcwo.net (like in MorseMachine), and the total time needed will be recorded.
So far the average time is about 10 seconds for 50 files, which is pretty fast, but the peak hours of usage are in the evening. It'll be interesting to see if there are any changes. I'll post my findings here on the forum. 73 Fabian |

When I start call signs and switch off the connection with Internet, the run just behaves quite normal, calls show up, red of black, untill the run is completed. Only at that point is the internet connection again needed in order to put your score in the database. |

Amazing Mike. When I start call signs and switch off the connection with Internet, the run just behaves quite normal, calls show up, red of black, untill the run is completed. That's remarkable, because the MP3 snippets of the callsigns itself are loaded exactly at the time when it's heard. Regarding the benchmark, which I am running independently on two machines (one connected by a) 7MBit/s DSL, the other by b) 100MBit/s): a) Takes an average of 9.6s (max 10.5, min 9.4) b) Takes an average of 6.2s (max 6.4, min 6.0) I'll let this running for a while; the peak hours are still coming. 73 Fabian |

It has been running for over 24h now and the performance so far has been very stable. On the DSL connection, between 9.3 and 11.1 seconds, on the 100MBit/s connection between 6.0 and 6.5 seconds. 73 Fabian DJ1YFK |

Posted: 2011-02-17 14:49 | HTML5 audio seems corrupted. On the Iphone 3GS it has hickups and in Firefox as wel.
|
|
Posted: 2011-02-17 15:11 | To be more clear. The audio is corrupt the first time it plays. As if the audio-buffer is not filled quickly enough when playing. The workaround it to let it play, rewind and then listen to uncorrupted audio.
