Posted: 2016-11-24 02:11 | I want to start learning again CW. I have a paddle keyer and a Kenwood 850SAT. Is there a way to practice sending just to myself through the radio so that I can hear myself sending? Thank you 73

* Button "FULL"/"SEMI" to "SEMI"
Then the keyer works but the TS-850S will not go on transmit mode.

Posted: 2017-01-05 03:38 | I have a Kenwood TS-2000 and Vibroplex single paddle keyer. Holding the paddle to one side continuously gives repeated dits, the other side repeated dahs. This makes keying symbols much crisper than using a straight key and will allow one to key faster.
CW/FSK/REV to CW
Set VOX to OFF
Volume is Menu 13 TX Sidetone Volume
Tone is Menu 31 CW RX pitch/ TX Sidetone Frequency
Menu 35 is Bug Key Mode to OFF
Changing the Keying Speed ==>
1) Press [CW/FWK/REV]
2) Press [KEY/DELAY] Default is 20 WPM, turn Multi/CH to set the speed.
3) Press [KEY/DELAY] again
